Meet Samuel Perry

Samuel Perry is a decorated military officer, logistics professional, community leader and family man. Recently retired from the Armed Forces, he has served more than 37 years of honorable military service in the United States Army (25 years) and the United States Marine Corps (12 years). Throughout his distinguished service, he has successfully led large-scale operations and strategic planning. He brought contracting and budget expertise to critical roles coordinating global and interagency operations that strengthened logistics networks, accomplished objectives and ensured mission success both at home and abroad including deployments for Operation Desert Storm, two deployments for Operation Iraq Freedom and two deployments for Operation Enduring Freedom to Afghanistan.

Outside of the uniform, Sam and his family have been residents of Fairburn for almost 28 years. He has served as a youth baseball and football coach at Fairburn’s Duncan Park as well as a certified USA Basketball coach donating his time at the youth, middle and high school levels. In his civilian career, Sam has applied his leadership skills in the private sector as an IT Support Analyst for AT&T and BellSouth, and later as a Railroad Conductor with CSX Railroad managing complex operations in high-pressure environments. His academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in African American Studies from Georgia State University and a Master of Science in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, complemented by specialized training at the Army Logistics University. Additionally, he holds certifications from FEMA for Emergency and Disaster Management, Project Management Professional (PMP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and the Black Belt in Six Sigma (LSSBB). Sam has always been deeply committed to service beyond the military, as he has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and is a proud Master Mason of H.R. Butler Lodge #23, where he has supported community development and mentorship since 1998. He brings decades of proven leadership in military operations, logistics, and community engagement. Now, Samuel Perry brings unmatched leadership, integrity, and dedication to serve the people of Fairburn – not just as a veteran, but as your neighbor and advocate for a better tomorrow.
